Widget Studio: Home Assistant for iPhone and Android

Direct Home Assistant connection

The app connects directly to the Home Assistant server you choose. We do not operate a Widget Studio account system or a cloud relay for your home. The app sends authentication credentials and your requested source/action parameters to that selected server; these requests are not routed through our support systems. Your chosen server, hosting and remote-access providers handle requests under their own practices. The app does not automatically send your server credentials, readings or camera images to us.

Sign-in opens your selected Home Assistant server in the system browser; the app does not read your password. A manually created access token is another option. Credentials authenticate only to your selected, validated origin. Remote servers require HTTPS. If you choose a supported private-network HTTP address, that local connection is not encrypted in transit; use a trusted network or HTTPS. Connecting a home, sending a household command and contacting support are optional; you can explore the bundled demo without them.

Information on your device

Saved information can include server addresses, source identifiers/names, readings/history, calendars, to-do items, weather, presence, room labels, favourites, dashboard paths, widget layouts, connection observations and action receipts. This lets widgets retain saved readings when a connection fails. Camera stills require explicit consent and private, size-limited storage; they are not uploaded to the developer.

On iPhone, credentials use the device-only iOS Keychain and the app and widgets share a private app container. On Android, credentials, configuration, readings, diagnostic events and consented stills use private files encrypted with an Android Keystore key, excluded from operating-system backup and device transfer. Camera permission is not requested: optional images come from the Home Assistant source you select.

No tracking

We do not use advertising, analytics or automatic crash-upload SDKs, track you, or sell data. Optional referral offers are described below; there are no subscriptions or in-app purchases. Apple, Google and your device vendor may provide their own store, crash and beta-feedback services under their settings and policies.

Optional diagnostic support reports

Settings → Diagnostics (Help & Diagnostics on iPhone) lets you prepare a report offline, choose whether to include recent logs, preview the exact text, and share through another app. Nothing is sent automatically. Reports include app version/build and operating-system information; Android also includes device manufacturer/model and aggregate configuration counts. An optional description is included only in the report you prepare.

Automatic events contain fixed operation/error categories, numeric status codes, timings and limited technical summaries. They exclude credentials, addresses, entity names, readings, images and command parameters. Known credentials, links and common secret patterns are removed from entered descriptions, but redaction cannot find every kind of private information. Review all text before sharing.

Logs are bounded to 72 hours and 1,000 events, pruned when accessed or written; operating-system suspension can leave periods unobserved. On Android they are encrypted and excluded from backup. Clear diagnostic logs removes the saved local journal without deleting your home setup; later activity can create new events. A complete crash or outage history is not promised.

Information you send to support

Support is optional. If you email support@agenticconsciousness.com.au, we receive your email address and the correspondence, problem description, report or other attachments you choose to send. A report can include the technical diagnostic and performance information described above. This material can be associated with your email identity. Widget Studio does not read your mailbox or automatically send the report.

Our shared support mailbox is hosted by Microsoft 365, which processes the correspondence to deliver and store support mail. Daniel uses the material to answer your request, investigate and fix problems, and maintain the relevant app functionality. We do not use support correspondence for advertising, referral measurement or tracking, or sell it. We keep correspondence and attachments only while needed to handle the request, investigate the relevant issue or meet applicable legal obligations. A local preview or Clear diagnostic logs does not delete an email you have already sent. Other recipients you choose have their own policies.

Request deletion of support data

You can request deletion of the support correspondence and reports you sent us without creating an account. Email support@agenticconsciousness.com.au with the subject “Widget Studio support data deletion”. Send from the address used for the support request, or identify that address and the approximate date or subject so we can locate the material. Do not send a Home Assistant password, token or extra household data.

We will delete the support correspondence and attachments you identify unless retention is legally required; if an exception applies, we will explain what must be kept and why. We may ask only for information needed to verify and locate the request. This request covers copies held by our support mailbox; it does not remove copies from your own email provider, another recipient or your Home Assistant server.

Configuration files and recipes

Export/import is user initiated, with a preview before applying or sharing. Portable files exclude credentials, server addresses, readings, camera images and diagnostic events. Configuration backups can contain entity identifiers, custom labels and layout choices that reveal your setup; review them before sharing. Recipes map to local sources you choose. Imported camera layouts require new consent. The system share chooser grants temporary access to the selected file.

Widget visibility and actions

Selected readings may be visible to anyone who can see your Home Screen. Lock Screen and privacy behavior vary by platform/device. Sensitive camera content is hidden on untrusted or protected widget surfaces. Actions require a fresh state check and explicit intent. They are never queued offline or automatically retried. Locks are read-only; scenes, scripts and covers require app confirmation. Additional homes are read-only for actions.

Android appliance sessions are user-started, display-only ongoing notifications with an expiry and Stop control. The operating system controls background scheduling; foreground polling does not guarantee a widget refresh interval.

Optional personal referrals

Settings includes optional Tesla, Starlink and OVO Energy links. Daniel may receive a reward if you use one and qualify. Links are bundled, never preloaded or opened automatically, and contain no household data or app-generated user identifier. We do not record taps. Providers open outside the app and process visits/purchases under their own policies. Current terms and regional eligibility apply. Referral use does not affect app features.

Removing your information

Disconnect a home in Settings to remove its credentials, saved readings and camera files. On Android, disconnected layouts remain available for explicit source repair; delete unwanted layouts separately and use Clear diagnostic logs to remove the journal. On iPhone, Disconnect and erase local data also removes the local setup and diagnostics. Export a configuration first if you want to keep it.

Revoke the server credential in Home Assistant → Profile → Security. There is no separate Widget Studio account to delete. Uninstalling Android removes private app data; iOS Keychain records can survive removal, so disconnect first to erase credentials. Manage already shared copies with their recipients.

Support website

This site uses GitHub Pages, which may process standard requests under GitHub's privacy statement. Its approved callback declaration does not receive authorisation codes or credentials. Support, privacy and referral websites open only when you choose. A public issue is visible to others: exclude tokens, private addresses and household details.

Changes and contact

We update this policy before a release changes these practices. Contact support@agenticconsciousness.com.au for privacy questions or support-data deletion.

Widget Studio is independent of Home Assistant, the Open Home Foundation and Nabu Casa.
